Brenden:

This sweet kid just wrapped up his 2nd grade year. His school doesn't assign letter grades yet but he's right on target for all of his schoolwork. He's a lot like his mommy - love math and science, but reading comprehension (focus) doesn't always come so easy. He's got a huge heart and cares so much about other people. He also gets nervous and worried very easily. He and Logan are training to join a gymnastics team. Brenden excels in the upper body routines (bars, rings, etc). I am very impressed with his strength and dedication. He wants to be strong like a ninja warrior and lately his favorite tv show was "Strong" - he loves watching anything fitness related on tv and is really inspired by it. He has also taken an interest in using my camera and loves to take pictures of everything. He looks so much like his daddy but this kid is all me on the inside :)
Logan:
Mr Personality! This kid has to do everything with flare! He is the family jokester, he is always making us laugh just by making a silly face or doing something crazy. Sometimes we have to reel it in (you have to be serious every now and then). He had a great first grade year and was tested for "gifted/enrichment" program and was pretty much in the 98th percentile across the board for everything, so next year they will give him special education to keep him challenged - which is a good thing with his need to be crazy personality all of the time. Heaven forbid that kid get bored in class :) Technically we started him in Kindergarten a year early. His birthday was past the cut-off date by a few days but we pushed for early enrollment because we knew he was ready. So glad we did that. He is also training for gymnastics and he does the best handstands and cartwheels. Of course mr crazy kid would prefer all of the jumps and flips as his favorite part of gymnastics!
Overall our crazy life her in WV is going well. The kids love their school and work keeps me plenty busy even with a remote office. We recently discovered the joy of Kings Island in Ohio and the kids had their minds blown! They absolutely loved it - and so did we. It was a great family memory and we'll certainly go back. We usually go to the great wolf lodge, but over the years I have come to feel that that place costs more money than the fun we get out of is.
We are enjoying summer and it is going by too fast. The kids start Camp Invention next week. They went last year and it was a very positive experience. I can't wait to see what their crazy little minds come up with.
Well that is about all there is to share for now. I can see in the past 2 years blogger's interface has gotten a little more user friendly - especially for adding pictures so I'll try to get back in the habit of blogging - and trying to think of interesting things to blog about!
