Portraits taken at daycare

Here are some of the better spring portraits they took at Brenden's daycare. I was surprised to have this many good ones since he was so determined to NOT be still! Gotta love toddlers!

March update

Work has been really busy lately and this pregnancy has me quite drained so I'm once again WAY behind on my blogging. I don't really have anything exciting to write about these days. I am 4 months pregnant today and feeling good. I still don't feel as good as I did with Brenden, but I can't complain most days. We'll have our next ultrasound mid-April. I'm starting to get a little eager to find out the gender.

Here are some snapshots of Brenden

Here he is taking the new kitchen sink for a test drive! He makes this silly face all of the time now. It cracks us up!

Showing off his big brown eyes! Such a cutie pie!

Playing with the balls from our Gum trees. These things are horrible and such a nuisance, but he thinks they are toys!

Looking like such a big boy here!!

Latest baby2 pictures

Here are my most recent ultrasound pictures of baby2. This was for my genetic screening. My results came back within normal range so all is good for this baby. He/She didn't show their stuff like Brenden did at this time but we should be able to find out the gender in about 4 more weeks. I can't wait. I want to shop :)

Finally catching up my blog!

I know its been WAY too long since I've updated this last. I've been so fatigued with this pregnancy its all I can do to stay awake long enough to get Brenden down for bed. I hope to get my energy back in a few weeks. I remember with Brenden getting my energy back around 14-15 weeks. I will be 14 weeks tomorrow.

We've been remodeling our kitchen so life has been a little crazy lately. I will try to dedicate another post just to the kitchen itself. For now I felt it was long past due to update my Brenden pictures!

Our new thing now is blowing bubbles when he's in the bathtub. It helps to get him to sit still and cooperate. He loves to try to catch the big bubbles. Only a baby's skin is soft enough to catch a bubble without breaking it!

Almost have it.....

I think I've got it now!

Yay, I caught the bubble!!!

Here he is modeling our new bar/counter in the kitchen. He thinks its so funny that he's being allowed to stand on the counters!

My happy boy!!

The details....

Okay so a lot of people have been saying to me "hey, where did these ultrasound pics come from, we didn't even know you were expecting again!"

I suppose I did sort of just throw those out there without any real explanation. We had told a lot of our friends and family personally so I just assumed that everybody that read our blog already knew.

So here's the "story." As we all know it took almost 3 years and lots of unsuccessful fertility treatments before we had a successful in-vitro fertilization that gave us our sweet Brenden. We weren't even sure it was in the stars for us to have a second child. I had approached Sean about having a second child and he said he wasn't opposed to trying, but was not ready for the money and stress that came along with doing fertility treatments. I agreed and decided I would just resume doing my acupuncture as my cycles were horrible after having Brenden. I had very delayed ovulation and very short (less than 10 days) luteal phases. All of which point to "weak follicles" which is essentially what I had before. I really didn't think I stood a chance at a natural conception. The first 2 months of acupuncture I saw mild improvements in my cycle. Acupuncture isn't a "quick fix" really, its a lot of trying things and adjusting things based on my response, which is sort of the same with fertility drugs. Well the 3rd month doing acupuncture I had a perfect day 14 ovulation. I don't think I had that ever. We actually "missed" ovulation day because I was sure I'd have a late day 20 ovulation like I had so many months before. We did however "try" the day before I ovulated. I knew that meant I stood a chance at being pregnant, but not as good as if we'd actually caught the ovulation day.

So weeks go by and I start to notice my luteal phase was going past 10 days - which was unusual. I had no signs at all that my cycle was going to start. I started also getting weak spells and the shakes a lot - a common symptom with my two previous pregnancies. I went out on a limb and decided to take a home test. I fully expected it to be negative. It wasn't! I didn't tell Sean. I waited and tested the next day and sure enough it was positive again. I finally tell Sean and he is just as stunned as I am. We follow up with the OB and its confirmed - we are pregnant.

At this point I am almost 12 weeks along an saying farewell to the first trimester. I had my 3 month OB appt. today and got to hear a nice strong heartbeat. We are definitely starting to feel more positive and excited about the pregnancy. Its just such a joy and a miracle to get to experience pregnancy again when I wasn't sure it was even possible. I feel so blessed.

My first trip to the park!

Its so crazy - 3 days ago it was 19 and 3 inches of snow on the ground (of course by the time I took the picture it had melted to about 1 inch!)

and today it was upper 60's and clear skys. I decided to take Brenden to our local park for the first time and he had SO much fun. He loved the swing and the slide. He also enjoyed just getting to watch the other kids going nuts! I'm so glad I took him!

Here is a movie of him swinging. He's very interested in the little boy swinging beside of him and I can't get him to look at the camera!
